Nepal Diary 11: Back Home
October 27, 2009
We were up for breakfast around 9am and I had an omelette. This sounds weird, but it tasted very normal to me. We did some quick last minute shopping and left for the airport at 11am. They take getting to the airport early very serious in Nepal. We had at least 3 searches, and that was the short line and only because we were American. Our flight left at 2:50pm and we arrived in Delhi at 4:05pm. The worst part about our lay-over in Delhi is that we had to sit in the transit area for 8 hours. Since we were so early, our boarding passes were not ready and we had to wait until they found us and cleared us through the first checkpoint of security. Worse lay-over ever! At 12:15am India time, we left for Chicago. The flight was pretty easy except for the Indian man who thought using my arm for a pillow was acceptable. He was very unhappy that I kept moving my arm. We landed back home at 10:50am, our time. Feels absolutely great being back in the states and I hope someday to return to India and Nepal. It’s time to get some sleep.
