Nepal Diary 8: Short and Sweet

0

October 24-

Pretty short and sweet today. We left Club Himalaya and had a pretty easy ride down the mountain. We got our 2000 NPR back for our crap taxi to Nagarkot. Oh, and remember how I told you that Jim lost his wallet? Yeah, he found it….in his luggage! In a way, it was like winning the lottery; we had already started budgeting without it. So, of course, we bought souvenirs and gifts for most of the day in Katmandu. It is amazing how that sort of crap will wear you out.

We booked Last Resort today, which has one of the world’s largest bungee jumps and swing(http://www.thelastresort.com.np) and they are 160M high….that is meters folks, you can do the math. It is one of the longest free-falls in the world. Joel is dead set on doing the bungee and I am still on the fence if I am going to do the bungee or swing or anything at all. Jim does have a newborn baby at home, so it is understandable why he doesn’t feel the need to risk his life in the middle of nowhere. We leave for that tomorrow morning, and the Shanker Hotel turned out to be a fantastic place! The room is huge and well worth it. Got to be up early tomorrow….way too early.
